Our Drivers

All our drivers are volunteers and we are always looking for new drivers to replace those who have 'retired'.

What are the limitations?

A driver must be aged between 25 and 70, although this may be extended to 75 if the driver is in good health and passes the medical assessment required by DVLA. Anyone with a full driving licence with category D1 is permitted to drive the Community Ambulance.

What is the commitment?

The commitment for our regular drivers is usually no more than half a day per week. A new volunteer can put their name forward for a regular slot, when one becomes available, or as a relief driver, to stand in when one of the regular drivers is unavailable.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer driver why not contact David Walton on 07468 883289 to find out more information. This may be the opportunity you have been seeking to give something back to your community.
