Our Service

We currently operate the service with a 14 seat Renault Master, which has a tail lift installed for wheelchair access and is also used by those who have difficulty climbing the steps into the vehicle.

The service is provided each weekday and is free to users. We mainly transport elderly and disabled people living in the Portlethen, Newtonhill, Chapelton, Muchalls and surrounding area to and from their appointments at the Medical Centre and Dental Practice in Portlethen. The transport service is booked directly with the receptionists at the Medical Centre and Dental Practice, usually at the same time as a person is booking an appointment.

The Community Ambulance is also utilised to transport members to and from their weekly Senior Citizens Lunch Clubs, in Portlethen and Newtonhill.

On Sunday mornings the Ambulance is used by Portlethen Parish Church to transport members of the congregation who have transport or mobility problems.

Out with these times, the Ambulance can be available for use by local groups. Portlethen Guides regularly use the vehicle for outings in the evenings. If you require more information on the out of hours availability, contact the Rota Co-ordinator Hugh Wheelan on 07834 559547
